The Pre-ITA Document Checklist
1. Valid Passport and Travel Documents: Ensure your passport has sufficient validity.
2. Language Test Results (IELTS/CELPIP/TEF): Must be valid (less than two years old) on the date you apply for PR.
3. Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Reports: All foreign post-secondary education needs a WES or equivalent report.
4. Police Certificates (from every country): Required from any country you have lived in for six months or more since the age of 18. Start this immediately.
5. Proof of Funds (Settlement Funds): A letter from your bank showing liquid funds held for at least six months.
6. Birth Certificates: Essential for family members and dependents.
7. Marriage Certificate/Divorce Certificate: Critical for verifying your spousal status.
8. Digital Photos for PR Card: Have high-quality, government-standard digital photos ready.
9. Complete, Detailed Work Reference Letters: Must be on company letterhead, signed, and include your job title, duties, hours worked, and salary. Flawless letters are non-negotiable.
10. Proof of Common-Law Status (If Applicable): Gather evidence of 12 months of cohabitation (joint leases, joint bank statements, etc.).
